For Two Drinan Chassis Set-Up Seminars
Coming to Phoenix and LA in March
INDIANAPOLIS, Feb. 23 - Renowned racing engineer and builder Danny Drinan will conduct two of his popular "Pyramid of Grip" chassis set-up seminars in March in Phoenix and Los Angeles.
The day-long events provide something that is virtually impossible to obtain anywhere else — concentrated racing technology education in layman's terms.
The first seminar will be held on Sunday, March 20 at the Arizona Open-Wheel Racing Museum, 3534 East Broadway Road in Phoenix, Ariz.
Maxwell Industries will sponsor a seminar at its headquarters at 4277 Transport St., Unit F, in Ventura, Calif., on Saturday, March 26.
The seminars are open to all racers, and typically attract participants of many different forms of short-track racing.
The topics of discussion will cover items relating to the set-up and operation of a race car, including the items that make up the "Pyramid of Grip": spring rate, shock dampening, tire pressure, chassis roll, and chassis bind/chassis flex.
"If you've ever wanted to make a set-up change at the track but didn't do it because you weren't sure what the result would be, this seminar will help you," Drinan said. "This is a chance to remove the unknowns from your trips to the track, have the comfort and confidence of understanding the results of each of your changes as they are made, and improve your results!"
Both seminars will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 5 p.m., with a one-hour break for lunch. Maxwell Industries will provide a complimentary lunch to the attendees of the seminar at its headquarters.
Seating is limited. The cost to attend is $150 for adults and $75 for children 12 and under.
A substantial discount is available for attendees who register before 5 p.m. Eastern time on Tuesday, March 1. The prices for those who take advantage of this early-bird deadline are $125 for adults and $62.50 for children under 12.
To reserve a space by telephone, call Drinan Racing Products at (317) 486-9710 during regular business hours. All major credit cards and checks are accepted. Seminar attendees may also register through PayPal through DrinanRacing@sbcglobal.net.
On-line registration will be available 24 hours a day through a Web site that is currently under construction at PyramidOfGrip.com.
A series of DVDs taped at a past "Pyramid of Grip" seminar and two booklets are available for purchase through Drinan Racing Products. One booklet covers general short-track set-up information, while the other focuses on quarter-midget set-ups.
Additional information is available on the Drinan Industries/Drinan Racing Products Facebook page.
Drinan is well known for the innovation and workmanship he brings to his designs and the products he produces at Drinan Racing Products, which is located on Indianapolis's famed Gasoline Alley.
He has produced several innovative race cars. The latest of those is the Shark D1 quarter midget, which makes a giant leap forward in driver safety for this form of motorsports.
Another of his popular innovations is a cockpit-adjustable anti-roll bar system called the Dri-Bar.
Drinan was a top-level USAC sprint and midget driver in the past, and he made three attempts to make the starting line-up at the Indianapolis 500. He also worked as the operations manager for Hemelgarn Racing's Indy car team, and as a mechanic for both Michael and Mario Andretti's Indy car efforts.
